Riding is a vey popular pastime in the South Hams area, where people can relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Devon countryside. There are numerous riding stables and facilities, particularly along the edge of Dartmoor and around Totnes. Most give lessons and have indoor training facilities for wet weather.

Their is a competition standard 50 by 30 metre indoor arena, a 40 by 20 metre floodlit outdoor arena, rubber matted 5 bay horse walker, large stables and carefully managed turnout including post and rail paddocks.

The centre is approved by the British Horse Society and the Pony Club. The centre also provide livery services for your own horse.

Finally visit the rescued horses and ponies at The Mare & Foal Sanctuary Visitor Centre at Coombe Park, Littlehempston, near Totnes. Phone: 01803 866615. The sanctuary rescues, cares for and rehomes a large number of horses and ponies.
